CATRIN for a Transparent Internet- One of CATRIN goals is to enhance user and organizational understanding of digital activities through a Transparent Internet.
- The Network Inspection Plane (NIP), a sub-system of CATRIN, is provided to enable users request measurement-based Internet descriptions.
- NIP is fed from active measurements
- Measurements and report of open ports and TLS configuration.
- Important part of the Internet's infrastructure.
- Used by private/public organizations and institutions.
- Store user information.
- Used for authenticating users, for example to organization's intranet.
- Used for user management on email exchange.
- An example of public LDAP server is to fetch user's certificate for a private email exchange.
