Integrated Demo
This diagram presents an overview of the current demo of CATRIN that integrates all components. Arrows indicate interactions. The numbered arrows represent the main demo where a user requests a path with certain characteristics. Unnumbered arrows represent other interactions besides this main demo. See detailled explanations of the interactions below.
Main demo steps:
- 1. The user's request is defined by certain business / policy requirements.
- 2. The user makes a request to the NCP, asking for a path to a certain destination that fulfills specific characteristics.
- 3. The NCP queries the NIP to obtain possible paths and information about their characteristics.
- 4. The NIP returns this information. Then, the NCP selects the best path.
- 5. The NCP returns the path to the user.
- 6. The user's system embeds path information into the packets, and when routed through a CATIRN policy zone, the data follows along the requested path.
